Brittany Weather and Climate

  • The climate in Brittany is marked by the Gulf Stream. The moderate oceanic climate resulting is marked by sweet winters and averagely lime summers. The temperatures in winter on the north coast of Brittany rarely come under zero whereas in summer the climate remains always pleasant while in Germany or in the Mediterranean Sea, we suffer under heat waves.
  • The West wind blowing practically constantly assures a healthy atmosphere but brings so much wet air from the Atlantic Ocean that it rains relatively often in Brittany. The rain quantities are not particularly important and divide up in a very irregular way: on the coast, showers are rarer than inside the country.
  • In summer also, the hard and changing Brittany climate brings precipitation which are generally of short duration. It is rare to see days when it is raining non-stop in summer, days without sun are an exception, mostly we attend sunny summer periods.
